Baptism
“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
We encourage all those who choose to follow Jesus to take the step of baptism. We host an all-church baptism or you can schedule baptisms at any time.
Water Baptism is a public declaration and celebration of a decision to follow Jesus Christ. It’s a way for a Christ-follower to show their friends, family, and community that they have made this choice. It is also a way to follow the example of Jesus who was Himself baptized (Matthew 3:16, Matthew 28:19-20).
We practice immersion baptism as it scripturally symbolizes death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:1-4).
At PLC, we offer child dedications for parents with infants or young children. Kids are encouraged to wait until at least 4th grade to be baptized.
